Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Cajun Spices

By

These snappy "fries" are an easy and tasty side in place of french fries.

Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 T extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 t. Tony Chacheres Cajun Seasoning
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 425 F
Cut the ends off the sweet potatoes and peel. Slice into steak fries. Place in a large bowl. Toss with the olive oil.

Sprinkle with 1 t. of Creole seasoning; toss thoroughly with sweet potatoes. Taste and add more if needed. Add black pepper to taste.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick spray.

Place the sweet potatoes on the baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until fries are tender and beginning to crisp and brown on the edges. You can turn them once halfway through the cooking if desired (I usually don't bother).
