Tartar Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 c homemade mayonnaise
  • 1 T fresh chives
  • 2 T chopped cornichons or other small dill pickles
  • 1 T capers, drained
  • 1 large hard-cooked egg, peeled and chopped
  • 1-1/2 lemon juice
  • 1/2 t cornichon juice from jar
  • 1/4 t dried tarragon, basil or parsley
  • 1/8 t ground red pepper
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Mix everything but salt and pepper in small bowl. Then add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and chill 30 mins before serving. Refrigerate up to 3 days. Makes 1-1/2 c.
