Orange Drop Cookies

Ingredients

  • Cookie Ingredients
  • 1 cup shortening (Fleischmann corn oil margarine)
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1/4 cup orange juice from 1 medium orange (not frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 cup sour cream (low fat)
  • 3 1/2 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Frosting Directions
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Add milk and/or left over orange juice from the orange slowly until the mixture is spreading consistency-not to thin. Add more powdered sugar if too thin. Frost cookies and leave out until frosting is set up.

Preparation

Step 1

Cookie Instructions: Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, orange peel, orange juice and sour cream, mix well. Sprinkle in baking powder, soda and salt and mix well. Add flour slowly so it gets mixed well.
Drop by teaspoonful on greased or non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes or lightly browned.
Cool before frosting.
