Ingredients
- 4 Large Macintosh apples
- 6-8 Tbsp butter (1 1/2- 2 tbsp/apple), diced
- 1 Cup of sugar (1.4-1/3 cup/apple)
- 3-4 Tbsp whiskey (or to taste)
Preparation
Step 1
Peel and splice apples & combine them with butter and sugar in a medium saucepan.
-Cook at a medium heat until apples are tender.
-Add whiskey and cook another 2-3 minutes. The whiskey should essentially burn off.
Notes on the recipe:
This is a very flexible recipe. Feel free to play with the measurements to tate. Try Cortland, Fuji, or Granny Smith for different texture. It's great as a side dish with turkey, pork, venison or as a dessert alone or with ice cream, pound cake, or butter cookies.
