Chocolate Hazelnut Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 13 oz jar Nutella (hazelnut spread)
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 2 cups finely chopped hazelnuts
  • sifted powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven at 375

In a medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking power and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl combing nutella and shortening. Beat until combined. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs. Combine well. Alternately add flour mix and milk to combined mixture, mixing well.

Stir in 1/2 cup of chopped nuts.

Cover and chill for several hours or until firm.

Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls.

Roll balls into finely chopped nuts and then powdered sugar. Place balls on lightly greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until surface is cracked and cookies are set (cookies will spread and crinkle as they bake).

Transfer to wire rack to cool.
