STUFFING SIMPLIFIED

Streamlined to serve large quantities whether serving a few or multitude. Flavorful and a snap to make.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup dry onion flakes
  • 1 tbsp parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 3/4 cups water (or more)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix first 6 ingredients together in large container.

Pour water over top. Toss to dampen evenly. Makes enough stuffing for a 10 to 12 lb. bird.

NOTE: To cook separately in a covered casserole or small roaster, lay thin slices of butter over top using at least 1/2 cup. Pour some water around outside edge, about 3/4 cup. Bake 350 oven for about 30 minutes until steaming hot. Halfway through cooking, stir and add more water if needed then or later.

NOTE: 1 cup chopped onion, sauteed first, may be used instead of instant.

VARIATION: Small dried bread cubes may be used for part of the bread crumbs.
