Drunken Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 strips bacon, diced
  • 1 pound dried pinto beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 4 chipotle chiles
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 bottle beer
  • water

Preparation

Step 1

In a small saucepan, brown the bacon pieces and add them to the Crockpot with all of the other ingredients,
stir to combine and add water to cover the beans completely. Cook on low for 6 hours. Remove the chiles before serving.
