Sweet & Sour Green Beans

  • 1 quart green beans
  • 1 medium onion or 2 large shallots, chopped
  • 8 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup bacon grease


Servings 8


Step 1

Place one layer of cooked green beans in the bottom of casserole dish. Layer with half the bacon and onion. Repeat another layer of green beans, bacon, and onion. Pour sauce of vinegar, sugar, and bacon grease over the top. Back at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
