Ingredients

  • Base:
  • 2/3 pound unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 2/3 C unbleached flour
  • 2/3 C powdered sugar
  • Topping:
  • 8 C sweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 C walnut pieces
  • 4 C condensed milk

Preparation

Step 1

For the base, mix butter, flour and sugar together in mixer. Spread onto greased 12 x 16 inch (half sheet) pan and press down. Bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees.

Remove from oven.

For the topping, mix coconut, walnuts and condensed milk together with whisk or spatula. Pour over cooled base and bake for 45 minutes at 300 degrees. If desired, drizzle melted semisweet chocolate on top after bar has cooled. Slice into 2 x 2 inch squares.
