Whole Wheat Sesame Seed Crackers

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons grape seed oil
  • 4 to 5 tablespoons water, as needed

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 F
Mix flour, salt, and oil in food processor until it starts looking grainy
Add toasted sesame seeds
Slowly add water until the dough forms a ball in the food processor
Wrap and let sit for an hour
Roll out to 1/8 inch or thinner (thin to win) and cut to desired shape
Bake on a cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes, depending on thickness
Take out of oven and put on a cooling rack or a cold cookie sheet
They will firm up and be ready to eat
(If they get soggy or limp just put them in the oven at 200 F for 10 minutes or so)

Serve with dip or top with Tempeh “Chicken” Salad (recipe can be found at eaturveggies.com)

This is a basic recipe. Once you get the process down, you can experiment with different seeds, herbs, and flavorings to create your own signature cracker!
