Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperture
- 2 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoonHot sauce, or more
- 1 cup all purpose flour, sifted
- pecan halves (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Cream the butter with a fork. Mix in the cheese and sauces; stir to blend.
Slowly sir in the flour until just blended. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a roll. Cover in plastic wrap in plastic wrap and chill for several hours.
When chilled, slice the dough into 2 pieces. Roll each section into a log shaped like a long breadstick measuring about 1 inch thick.
Preheat the oven 350 degrees F.
Slice each dough section into 1/4 inch thick "coins" and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. If desired. press pecan halvesinto them.
BAke 10-15 minutes until golden brown and lightly crisp.
Store leftovers in an airtight container. When working with frozen dough, thaw, then bake.
