Pita Chips

Ingredients

  • 4 (8-inch in diameter) pita breads
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Adjust the oven racks to the upper-middle and lower-middle positions and heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Using kitchen shears, cut around the perimeter of each pita bread to yield two thin rounds.
Stack the pita rounds, and then cut them into six wedges each.
Spread the pita triangles, smooth side down, over two rimmed baking sheets.
Brush the top of each chip lightly with the oil and sprinkle with salt.
Bake the chips until they begin to crisp and brown lightly, usually about six minutes.
Remove and flip chips. Return to oven, switching which rack they were on. Bake until fully toasted, about six more minutes.

Cool before eating. Store completely cooled in zip lock bag at room temperature for up to two days.
