continental frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tblsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

make a cream sauce with flour, salt and milk. cook until thickened, stirring constantly and cooking until thick. cool. cream butter and shortening together and add creamed mixture. add sugar and vanilla and beat until thick.
