Cherry Loaf Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 5 Eggs
  • 2 3/4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp. Almond Extract
  • 2 Cups Candied Cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Dredge cut cherries with 1 cup of the flour. Mix remainder of flour, salt, baking powder, and almond extract. Cream butter, gradually add sugar, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in flour mixture. Add cherries. Bake in lined loaf pan for 1 3/4 hours at 300 F. Cool on rack
