  • Cake:
  • 1 white cake mix
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • Frosting:
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add cake mix, sour cream, and oil. Beat for 30 seconds on low speed. On medium speed, beat until blended for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool.

Beat butter and sour cream until well blended. Add cocoa. Gradually stir in powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla. If the frosting is thicker than you prefer, add a little milk. Store cake in refrigerator.
