Ingredients
- Glaze:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/3 cup icing sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
Mix sugar, shortening; add eggs. Beat in lemon juice gradually. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased 9 x 5 pen. Bake at 350 deg. 55-60 minutes.
While still hot, poke holes in bread and pour half the lemon glaze over the loaf. Remove from pan and pour remaining glaze over loaf.
