Meet Karla

Neysa : March 30, 2012 02:32 : Meet the Member

Karla Moss is just beginning at Key Ingredient and in the blogosphere.  She’s only shared a few recipes with us so far, and published a few posts on her blog, Home Skills 101.  But her handful of shared recipes already speak volumes: In a fast-paced, highly-specialized world, Karla wants to get back to the basics.  As she says in the introduction on Home Skills, “Most of the [blogs I read] cooked things like couscous with cranberries and portobello mushrooms and told you how to make a prom dress using old tires.  Anyway, I wanted to concentrate on the basics; how to clean your oven, how to repair a seam; how to make a loaf of bread, how to boil water … Well maybe not that basic but pretty darn close.”  Karla’s KI recipes reflect this love of the simple things.  Homemade bread, apple pie, spaghetti sauce … so take a moment, relax, and get to know one of our newest members! more »

Meet Debby

Neysa : March 23, 2012 01:57 : Meet the Member

Debby Farmer has shared over 1,000 recipes both on Key Ingredient and her beautiful food blog, A Feast for the Eyes.  Born to an American military soldier and a German woman from a family of restaurant-owners, it would seem cooking and presenting food is in Debby’s genes.  But Debby came to cooking slowly.  10 years ago, she began asking questions about her food.  Where did it come from?  How was it produced?  Since then, Debby has completely eliminated packaged and processed foods from her diet, and now she showcases recipes with simple, fresh ingredients from organic and sustainable sources.  Both her recipes and her photos are bright and beautiful.  We love having Debby in our community, and we hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as we have! more »
