Fluffy Seven Minute Frosting 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • Pinch o cream of tartar
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 Tablespoons cold water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • (Makes enough to frost two 8 or 9 inch cakes)

Preparation

Step 1

1.Either use a double boiler or a heat proof dish that you can place over a saucepan of boiling water.

2.Combine all the ingredients except the vanilla into the oven proof bowl.

3.Place the bowl over the boiling water.

4.Beat constantly, using an electric mixer until the frosting forms stiff but moist peaks.

5.This will take anywhere between 4-10 minutes.

6.Once you have reached the desired consistency, remove from the heat and fold in the vanilla.

7.Frost you cake right away while it is fluffy. This frosting stiffens as it sits
