This recipe has all the delicious flavor of the traditional time consuming stuffed cabbage.. without the hassle. Great weeknight meal.
|1-½||pounds ground beef|
|3||garlic cloves, minced|
|1||red bell pepper,chopped|
|1||T Worcestershire sauce|
|¾||cup uncooked rice|
|10||oz fresh mushrooms , sliced|
|tablespoon of butter|
|2||(14 oz) cans stewed tomatoes|
|½||cup white wine|
|½-¾||head green cabbage, sliced|
|Salt and freshly ground black pepper|
In a hot skillet, melt your tablespoon of butter, toss in the fresh sliced mushrooms, and cook until lightly browned; set aside. Brown meat, onion, red bell pepper, and garlic in a large skillet until meat is cooked. Add Worcestershire, rice, mushrooms, stewed tomatoes,and wine. Mix gently.Season with salt and pepper. Add sliced cabbage and mix again. Put mixture into a large baking dish. Cover and bake at 350F for one hour- one hour and 20 minutes until cabbage is tender and liquid has been absorbed.
