The Red Hook Cocktail is a classic made from Rye, maraschino liquor and Punt e Mes (a “sweet” vermouth with a “bitter” edge). In case you didn’t know Red Hook at a neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.


2 ounce rye whiskey
½ ounce Punt e Mes or other sweet vermouth
¼ ounce maraschino liqueur

Combine the rye, Punt e Mes and maraschino in a mixing glass half-filled with ice. Gently stir until chilled and properly diluted, about 20 seconds. Julep strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
