Bartlett Pear and Gorgonzola Bruschetta

Ingredients
- 12 (1/2-inch-thick) diagonal slices of baguette
- 4 ounces mild, creamy Gorgonzola, at room temperature
- 3 ripe Bartlett pears, halved, cored and peeled
- Freshly ground pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Place baguette slices on a nonstick or ungreased baking sheet. Toast until lightly golden, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Preheat the broiler.
Spread each toast with a thin layer of Gorgonzola.
Slice pears and arrange on the toasts. Return to the baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, just long enough to melt the cheese and warm the pears.
Sprinkle with pepper to taste.
