Preparation

Step 1

Cut a bar of hypoallergenic soap into quarters, and place them in the food processor. Turn the food processor on to its highest setting until the soap is finely chopped.

Take the lid off the food processor, and add 1 cup of borax and 1 cup of washing soda. Replace the lid, and press the "pulse" button on the food chopper until the ingredients incorporate completely.

Pour the mixture into a plastic container with a lid.

Use 1 to 2 tbsp. per load, dependent on the soil level of the clothes

If you don't have washing soda you can make it from baking soda by spreading the baking soda on a cookie sheet or on a jelly roll pan and baking at 400 for 30 minutes or so until the texture changes.

This is much more concentrated than is store bought laundry soap so you need much less to get the same results.
