  • 16 oz loaf of bread (French or Italian)
  • 1/2 c. softened butter.
  • 2-3 lg garlic cloves, minced thoroughly
  • 2 tbs of freshly and finely cut parsley
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese, opt

Preparation

Step 1

For Toast & Crispy Garlic Bread

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Mix the minced garlic, parsley and butter in a container to make garlic bread spread.
Slice the bread horizontally into half
Spread the garlic bread spread evenly on both cut halves of the bread.
Place on baking pan; bake for about 10 minutes.
Carefully remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 2-3 minutes.
Cut into slices
To vary taste you may add other herbs to the garlic spread.

For Soft Garlic Bread

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Prepare the garlic, parsley and butter mixture as described above.
Slice the bread vertically in 1-inch slices more or less. Do not slice all the way through the bread – leave the bottom crust connected.
Apply the garlic bread spread between each vertical slice.
Wrap the entire bread in clean aluminum foil and heat for 15 minutes in the oven.
