Ingredients

  • 1 pound Sausage, or meat of choice
  • 6 cups Bread, cubed; I use unsliced french bread
  • 3 cups grated Cheese of your choice; save 1 cup to sprinkle on top
  • 8 Eggs
  • 2 cups Milk, more if needed
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Optional: 1/2 cup Green Onions, chopped

Step 1

Cook sausage until cooked throughout. If using sausage links, remove the casing before cooking. Drain off the grease.

Place the bread crumbs in a lightly greased 9x13 pan.
Sprinkle the bread crumbs with 2 cups of the cheese and top with the sausage.

In a small mixing bowl, add the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the bread mixture. If desired, sprinkle green onions on top.

Sprinkle the top with final cup of cheese, if desired.

Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight. At this point it can also be covered and frozen.

If refrigerated, let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Place in a 350 degree oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until eggs are set.

Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
