Mexican stuffed shells are easy to make. They make a great party dish for appetizers, just top them with sour cream!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 16 jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 1/2 cups salsa
  • 1 cup taco sauce
  • 3/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup Monterrey jack cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a pan brown the ground beef; add the taco seasoning and prepare according to the package. Add the cream cheese, cover and let simmer until cheese melts.

While the ground beef is cooking boil the water and cook the shells according to the package.

Pour the salsa into the bottom of a 9x13 dish.

Stuff the shells with 1 to 2 tablespoons of the ground beef mixture. Place the shells in the 9x13 pan open side up. Evenly cover the shells with the taco sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes sprinkle with the cheese and return to the oven for 10 minutes with the foil removed. Top with sour cream if desired.
