  • 1 cup warm water (110-115 degrees)
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dry, crushed oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dry, crushed basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Step 1

For the pizza crust, preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Put the pizza stone in the oven.

Dissolve yeast and honey in 110-degree water in a large bowl. Let stand until frothy, 10 minutes.

In another bowl, sift together flour and salt, then pour it and the oil into the bowl with the yeast mixture. With a wooden spoon, mix until no longer wet, then turn it out on a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Cover with a towel and let rest 5 minutes.

Roll the dough into a circle and transfer to hot pizza stone. Add desired toppings and cook for 15 minutes. Cool pizza for a few minutes before diving in.

For the pizza sauce, combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes.
