Ingredients

  • This recipe is for a brisket around 5 pounds, but can easily be doubled for a larger cut.
  • 1 5lb. Brisket
  • 1 T. Liquid Smoke
  • 1 t. garlic powder
  • 2 t. celery salt
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 T. Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 T. low salt soy sauce
  • 3 T. brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1 T. dry mustard
  • 1 T. low salt soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Combine liquid smoke, garlic powder, celery salt, salt, Worchestershire sauce, and 2 T. soy sauce.

Brisket can be cooked in a Browning Bag or in a roasting pan covered with heavy duty aluminum foil. Pour mixture over brisket and cook in a 300 degree oven for approximately 4 hours. Check for doneness and continue cooking if necessary.

Mix together brown sugar, catsup, dry mustard, and 1 T. soy sauce. Pour over the brisket and continue cooking for 1 additional hour.
