Baked Chicken with Herbs 5pts
  • YIELD: 15 servings

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
½ cup flour
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon garlic salt
3.75 lbs. skinned chicken pieces, (3.75 cooked meat that yeilds 4 ounces skinned meat per serving used for nutrtion calc.) You will actually need about 5 pounds bone-in chicken pieces for this recipe

Directions

Heat oven to 425F. Melt margarine in 15×10×1-inch baking pan. Tilt pan to coat with margarine. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In plastic bag,combine flour, poultry seasoning, thyme, sage and garlic salt. Shake chicken, a few pieces at a time, in flour mixture to caot. Place in pan. Bake at 425F. for 30 minutes. Turn chicken pieces; reduce heat to 375F. Bake an additional 30 to 40 minutes or until chicken is fork tender.

Reserve and refrigerate or freeze 1/3 of chicken pieces for Deep Dish Cheesy Chicken Pie.
