Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 F. Generously grease and flour the bottom and sides of a bundt pan.

In separate mixing bowls, prepare the cake mixes as directed on packages.

Now, to create the stripes..
Spoon about 3 tablespoons of white batter into the center of the cake pan. Next, spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the red batter into the center (on top) of the vanilla batter. This will cause the white batter to spread out. Continue alternating batters, in bulls-eye fashion until the pan gets about 3/4 full. You will now have thin rings of each batter on the outer edges of the pan, thicker rings towards the center. (Don't overfill the pan to prevent it spilling over in the oven).

Bake cake in center of oven for 45-60 minutes, or until the center tests done with a wooden toothpick. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, and then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.

For the Frosting:
Using a mixer, beat the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Gradually, beat in the box of confectioners sugar. Frost cooled cake as desired and garnish with red sparkling sugar. (I used cake crumbs from a single layer cake I made with the leftover red batter). Allow time to the frosting to set then cut into it and be amazed!!

((Freeze any leftover frosting)).
