Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 2 T sugar
  • 2/3 C warm water
  • 2 C cold water
  • 3 T corn oil
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 6 1/2-7 C flour

Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle yeast over warm water. Stir in sugar. Let set for 5 minutes or until bubbly. Combine remaining ingredients, adding only 1/2 C flour. Beat into a smooth batter. Add yeast, then remaining flour until dough is workable. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double. Punch down and shape to fit two 15" round pans that have been greased with 1/4 C oil (or less) and dusted with cornmeal. Do not push dough up the sides of the pan. Let rise about 20 minutes. Bake at 450 degrees.
