|Zest of 2 lemons|
|¼||c superfine sugar|
|¼||c fresh lemon juice (from 2 lemons)|
|1||golden delicious or granny smith apple, cored, halved and thinly sliced|
|1||bartlett pear, cored, halved and thinly sliced|
|1||can (12 oz) seltzer|
In a large pitcher combine wine, brandy, lemon zest and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add remaining ingredients, except seltzer and ice cubes, and mix well. Place pitcher to the refrigerator for 1-4 hours to allow flavors to meld. Just before serving, add ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute fruit, then top off with seltzer.
