| 1 | bottle fruity white wine |
| ½ | c brandy |
| Zest of 2 lemons | |
| ¼ | c superfine sugar |
| ¼ | c fresh lemon juice (from 2 lemons) |
| 1 | golden delicious or granny smith apple, cored, halved and thinly sliced |
| 1 | bartlett pear, cored, halved and thinly sliced |
| Ice cubes | |
| 1 | can (12 oz) seltzer |
In a large pitcher combine wine, brandy, lemon zest and sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Add remaining ingredients, except seltzer and ice cubes, and mix well.
Place pitcher to the refrigerator for 1-4 hours to allow flavors to meld.
Just before serving, add ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute fruit, then top off with seltzer.
