1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small saucepan, combine the oil, butter, garlic, and salt. Heat over medium-low heat until butter is melted; remove from the heat.
2. Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. Cut each half crosswise in three pieces. Then cut each piece in four 1/2-inch-wide sticks. Brush the breadsticks with the garlic-infused mixture, sprinkle with parsley, then place on a baking sheet. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
