Easy Baked Stew PRINT
This is another good recipe from old friend Carole Olson.
|2||lbs. lean beef stew meat|
|salt, pepper, and paprika|
|2||Tbsp. dry onion soup mix|
|8||white boiling onions (quarter regualr sized onions)|
|1||can cream of celery soup|
Season meat with salt, pepper, and paprika and onion soup mix. Place in Dutch oven. Add whole potatoes, onions, and carrots. Blend soup with 1/2 can water and 1/4 C. vermouth or wine. Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 250-300 degrees for 4 hours. Can serve over rice; then use fewer potatoes.
I usually use cream of chicken soup and water only. Also I use more dry onion soup mix.
