Dinner made easy with hot burger bun sandwiches that are filled with slow cooked spicy turkey.
| 4 | turkey thighs (about 3 lb), skin removed |
| ½ | cup packed brown sugar |
| ¼ | cup yellow mustard |
| 2 | tablespoons ketchup |
| 2 | tablespoons cider vinegar |
| 2 | tablespoons Louisiana-style hot pepper sauce |
| 1 | teaspoon salt |
| 1 | teaspoon coarse ground black pepper |
| 1 | teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
| 2 | teaspoons liquid smoke |
| 12 | burger buns, split |
| ½ | pint (1 cup) creamy coleslaw (from deli) |
2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
3 Remove turkey from slow cooker; place on cutting board.
Remove meat from bones; discard bones. Shred turkey with 2 forks; return to slow cooker and mix well.
For a real southern treat, serve this barbecued turkey over warm baking powder biscuits. Just pop some refrigerated baking powder biscuits into the oven while you shred the turkey.
