This Irish coffee recipe comes from The Buena Vista in San Francisco. It’s as quick and easy and it is elegant and sophisticated.
|some very hot water|
|6||ounces of hot, fresh brewed coffee|
|2||ounces Irish whiskey|
|fresh, lightly sweetened, whipped cream|
Pour very hot water into an empty heatproof glass or mug. After you fill it, let it heat the vessel for a few seconds and then pour the water out.
Add the freshly brewed coffee to about three quarters of the way filled. Then, place the two sugar cubes into the mix. Using a metal spoon, stir the mixture until the sugar cubes have dissolved.
Pour in Irish whiskey. Stir again. Then using the back of the same warm metal spoon, carefully pour lightly whipped fresh cream over the spoon’s back and onto your Irish coffee. Make sure that the whipped cream does not break the surface, but floats on top.
