Vodka Gummy Bears

By

Fun twist to Adult Jell-O shots, I had these at a party recently! What a great idea!

Gummy penguins, gummy coke bottles, gummy strawberries, peaches, watermelons... the possibilities are endless (though I have heard that Swedish Fish don't work that well in vodka- I think it is because of the coating?)

Try adding some gummy Life Savers to your bears. I hear, hands down, "Haribo Gold-Bears" are the best in the world. I have had several LARGE parties.. and found SAM's Club sells Black Forest Brand in a 6lb zip lock bag for $ 6!!! I use about 4 lbs in a pretty large container for about 40 - 50 people and let the kids have the rest of the 'non-alcoholic' ones.. The kids have learned to ASK which candy they can eat these days! Amusing!

Remember...This is a 24 - 48 hour MAX soak process... Plan ahead! If you soak too long, the sugar starts to break down...

They have quite a kick. Eat responsibly! :)

Preparation

Step 1

Place your bears in a large bowl and pour over your vodka, cover with plastic wrap and let sit for at least 24 hours. I wouldn't go further than 48 hours, they may start breaking down.

Pour out your vodka (serve if you like, it will be pink and sweet from the bears) and carefully skewer your gummy bears, if your guests don't like the idea of sticking their hand in the same bowl or zip-lock bag. It only takes about 15 minutes to skewer.

Arrange and serve.
