I don’t know about you, but this time of the year I need something to celebrate. These red beans are good for you, inexpensive, and easy to make so that might be a cause for a celebration all on its own. However, I think I’ll be making these for my sweetie on the 14th.
Quick cooking beans like lentils and split peas do not need to be cooked ahead of time. I usually add those in the morning when I’m making a soup or stew. However, long cooking beans like chickpeas, pintos, and white beans need to be cooked before adding to a recipe. Making beans in the slow cooker is beyond easy. more »
