Banana Bread
I was initially completely stumped upon learning that the theme this week would be grilling. For one thing, I don’t own and have never owned a real grill as an adult. Further, the grill we used when I was a kid saw only hamburgers, hot dogs, and ears of corn–never any kind of dessert.
My investigation into potential recipes led me to all kinds of grill-friendly treats, including fresh fruits, pound cake, and of course, s’mores. I decided that a grilled pound cake sounded the most delicious, but I wanted to try something a little different. I thought a slab of moist and nutty banana bread might become even more delicious with some crisp outsides and warm, gooey insides, and buddy, I was right.
You might be wondering how I went about grilling this banana bread since I’ve already confessed to not owning a true grill. Well, you should all feel very special–I dusted off my good ol’ little George Foreman* grill for this post, and it really did a bang-up job. I even achieved grill marks!
*It’s good to know that even though the man has ridiculously named all of his sons after himself, he’s also put his name on a good product.
I’d definitely recommend trying your favorite banana bread hot off the grill–it’s a whole new kind of delightful!
